I have not done it, but guess the way to do it would be the following. First, enable SSH root access (see caveats about warranty though) on your netgear. Disable transmission from the web interface. Then ssh to the netgear box and edit the settings:

vi /transmission/settings.json

... to enable authentication as per https://forum.transmissionbt.com/viewto ... 362#p35883

Save the file and then re-enable transmission from the web interface.

Hi phpandsql, this problem should be fixed in latest version, please try it.

not sure why, but all the settings e.g. speed limit and download directory do disappear every now and then, and it always goes back to the default.

IIRC, when running configure, a file should be created that shows the values of the configure values, one per line like POSIX_FALLOCATE=1. Can you please paste here this file? I am very curious on the functions supported by the box.

"prefetch-enabled" and "utp-enabled" config parameters were set to default values and I did not change them.

I'll try to get more info about POSIX_FALLOCATE function and maybe try to disable it, if possible.
But from my point of view, if you are not copying/deleting/moving files on your NAS very often, fragmentation should not be an issue. I would not bother about it at all. :-)

And another request: I am mostly accessing my netgear over the internet with SSH. Would you please consider adding transmision-remote and/or transmission-remote-cli to your package? I don't need fancy stuff, even transmission-remote would suffice :)
