Transmission installation problem

Yes, i understood that, as a "friend" of mine suggested ways to edit something. He first suggested nano, and than vim, and then vi. What im unclear on though, is part 4 where he says "with your own share rights". Does he mean to replace the "nobody:nogroup" instances with for instance "eric:users" if "Eric" is a user account i created in the FrontView of the nas under Security-> User and group accounts?
