Transmission installation problem

It means to use the ownership settings of the particular share you want Transmission to save files to. Which may be your user account or something completely different, depending on how the share was created. Easiest way to find out would be to do a "ls -al /c" and look for the settings of the share's directory.
That said I don't think the method outlined in the post you're referring to is the best way to go. Rather than changing the user/group Transmission is running under I'd go for changing the share's settings instead for this can be done through Frontview and doesn't involve any command line acrobatics.
