User already exists - Help please!

Really hope someone can help me with this because I'm completely lost.
Trying to set ReadyNAS Remote to hopefully use with the Android app, I've installed the add on ?successfully?, well it shows up in Services/Installed add-ons and is version 1.0.9.78.

I go to Manage ReadyNAS Remote. It fails to find any users so I enter my email address, it searches for a couple of seconds then comes up with a box stating 'No users were found', I click OK, press add and under the allowed box it has *email invite*, I click Apply settings and it sends me a invitation email with a link which I click.

I fill all the details in on the form and it just says 'User already exists' This happens what ever username/ email address combination I use.

So I trawled through this forum looking for answers the most useful was this one -http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=61351.(many thanks hornz). Following what he did I removed the lsconfiguration.xml files from both /opt/remote/conf and opt/p2p/conf removed the Remote Add-on, rebooted the ReadyNAS reinstalled the Remote add-on rebooted the ReadyNAS and tried again.

Failure!

The add-on seems to have reinstalled Ok, but when I go to Manage ReadyNAS Remote I just get the same as before, and still get the 'User already exists'

Now when I ssh in and list the files under /opt/p2p/conf it has rewritten the lnconfiguration.xml, but under /opt/remote.conf there is no lnconfiguration/xml listed.

What have I done?

Is it recoverable, can it be rewritten, and is anyone able to get Remote working for me? I'm not really confortable with ssh so please make answers suitable for a halfwit!

Help!!

Thanks for reading

John

  • Ok, managed to get this working! For anyone else having trouble here's what I did, hope it helps someone.

First set the NAS IP to static and rebooted the NAS, then send yet another email invite to myself.
After receiving the email invite, connected to the site from a different machine and was able to get my details accepted.
Went to 'Manage ReadyNAS remote entered the email and it found one user - woohoo!
Went to the Android (HTC Desire s) started the Netgear Remote app, and logged on with out problems and there were my shares - double woohoo

Just hope it continues to work?!?

They're good these forums where you talk to yourself!

    Cheers

    John
