•HTTPS trackers are unsupportedVersion 3.0 alpha (build 22789)
- Added fields to the About box in the web UI to present the external IP address and UDP/TCP ports assigned by a UPnP router to the server
- Added speculative fix for crash on POSIX platforms occurring when any configurable directories (e.g., active, completed, temporary, autoload, request) contain Unicode characters
- Fixed documentation by changing feed_id to feed-id in two places
µTorrent Server 3.0 alpha build 22708 (for Linux)
- Added daemon argument which directs the server to run in its own
process group- Added usage argument which directs the server to display the set of
valid command-line arguments before exiting - server also prints error
and usage messages before exiting if it detects at least one
unrecognized command-line argument- Added settings finish_cmd and state_cmd to provide a way to invoke
asynchronous processes for torrent lifecycle events- The add torrent dialog in the web UI now allows the user to choose
which download directory to use for the torrent being added- Correct JSON output is now generated for the list-dirs action request
- The name of the directory created by extracting the product archive now
includes utorrent instead of bittorrent- Removed ul_slots_per_torrent setting since it no longer has a function
- Added ut_webui_dir setting in the configuration file, which specifies
the directory containing the webui.zip archive or the unarchived files
to be served for the web UI- Added pidfile argument which permits the specification of a file to be
created by the utserver process which will contain the ID of the
utserver process- Added logmask setting in the configuration file which permits logging
to be configured (and subsequently modified as part of handling a
hangup signal), and removed support for LOGMASK environment variable- The server rereads the configuration file upon receipt of a hangup
signal or when creating or moving a file named rcf.utmr in the
dir_request directory - see the cautions in the user manual about
sending a hangup signal when attempting to change the value of
dir_request- Added settings admin_name and admin_password to allow administrators to
define initial non-default credentials for authenticating to the server
via the HTTP interface- Fixed documentation by changing filter_id to filter-id in one place

- dsm1212ApprenticeOn my system the settings are in /usr/local/utorrent/settings.dat. The permissions on this directory are:
drwxrwxrwx 3 nobody nogroup 4096 2012-03-24 12:36 .
and on the file are:
-rw-r--r-- 1 nobody nogroup 52242 2012-03-24 12:25 settings.dat
Would be easiest to get this right through SSH.
steve - SchpeckAspirantCan't open the gui on a Ultra 2. Seems to be running though...
- Dewdman42VirtuosoI really really really want to use this, but 2.0.0 seems to be broken link. Anyone know where I can find the version 2.0.0 of utorrent that supposedly works with Raidiator 4.2.2....ie...the old libc I guess. ??
- Dewdman42VirtuosoOk, not using the addon, but using one of the tars I found laying around and it works great on my Ulta2+!!! I think I'm using this one: http://www.readynas.com/contributed/super-poussin/gpl/utorrent-server-3.0-22789.tar.gz
I don't think its the newest one out. But... it seems to work and I'm very happy. THANKS! - Dewdman42VirtuosoSo does anyone know definitively, what is the last known good working version of utorrent that does not require the libc update? The links for older addons at the top of this thread are dead. I did find some debian packages someone made, which aren't addons, but at least they would setup init.d, etc.
Here is what I have found so far:- utorrent_2.2.01.bin -Super's addon, which is some newer release of utorrent, but doesn't seem to work with old libc
- utorrent-server-3.0-25053.tar - more new release from somewhere, maybe from utorrent site. Doesn't work
- utorrent-server-3.0-22789.tar - From Super, this was on communityaddons forum, under a GPL topic he created. Its older and its not an addon, its just a runnable, but it works.
- utorrent-server_3.0-25053_i386.deb - someone packaged this up to install init.d, etc. libc problem
- utorrent-server_3.0-24118_i386.deb - someone package this up to install init.c, etc. I haven't tried it.
So am currently using the 22789 version that I got from Super's GPL forum post. its quite old. But it does work. I'm also using the latest webui update I got from utorrent's site and so far seems to work with this old utorrent binary.
Looks like 25053 does not work due to libc.
I tried the 24118 release and it seems to work, but its not an addon, just a dpkg install. You can get it here: http://www.sitedesign.hu/utorrent/ That must be the newest release of utorrent I can find that will run with old libc. If anyone knows a newer one. please advise.
The older addons from super do not appear to be available anymore. I would be happy to have 22789 in addon form, since I know it works. Anyone know where it can be found, or what is the last known good version of utorrent before it started requiring the new libc? Actually if I can find that last known good version, I will try to make the addon myself. - valmikiAspirantI'm desperate to get utorrent going on my ultra 2 - is a working copy of this ever going to be available? Just feel it has so much more functionality (and ease of use) over Transmission.
Thanks
Valmiki - startideAspirantHi!
Try this link: http://www.readynas.com/contributed/sup ... 2.0.00.bin
I think SP has made mistakes when creating the links in the first page. The 2.0.00 version is the only version I have got working, all the newer ones I have tested have the GLIBC_2.11 error. - Dewdman42VirtuosoThanks for providing the link to the 2.0.0 bin. does anyone know which actual version of utserver that is? The newest version I have been able to get working on my Ultra2+ has been Beta 3.0-24118, but I was not able to use an addon bin directly.
If this 2.0.0 bin is at least that new, then I will use it.
Below are the steps I did in order to get 3.0-24118 working on my Ultra2+. I would like to know which version is in this 2.0.0 bin, but looking at the docs it provided, it appears to be slightly older. If anyone knows a version newer than 24118 that will run on the ultra2+ using the older libc, please let us know. That is the newest one I could fine.- First grab the older debian pkg from here: http://www.sitedesign.hu/utorrent/ (the latest 25053 release won't work on ultra2)
- unpack the .deb file with dpkg. The only file you need is "utserver".
- Install any of the utorrent addons. I used 2.2.01. It makes no difference which ones. Don't try to start it yet.
- Download the latest webui file from here: https://sites.google.com/site/ultimasites/files/utorrent-webui.2012050518174554.zip?attredirects=0&d=1. If you know of a newer one, please let us know, but that appears to be the newest one.
- Copy the webui file and rename it to '/usr/local/utorrent/webui.zip'
- Copy the file 'utserver' which you extracted from the deb archive above, over the top of the binary provided from the addon. That is located at '/usr/local/utorrent/utserver'.
- Edit the utorrent config file to get started. Once you start the gui the first time you should immediately go to settings and adjust all the settings(see notes below). That file is located at '/c/addons-config/utorrent/utserver.conf'
- Start utorrent from Frontview
- to view the utorrent gui, go to http://<readynas>:<port>/gui/
So here was my utserver.conf file in order to get started:token_auth_enable: true
admin_name: admin
admin_password: password
ut_webui_port: 8080
ut_webui_dir: /usr/local/utorrent/
dir_active: /c/raid/Downloads/utorrent/partial/
dir_completed: /c/raid/Downloads/
dir_torrent_files: /c/raid/Downloads/utorrent/torrents/
Once you have the gui up, go into settings immediately and set all the rest of your settings. Note, I have heard that there might be some memory leaks or such if you don't provide all the directories in there.
dsm also has a post earlier in this thread about how to make the newest 64bit version of utserver run on the ultra2, but it involves installing some libraries, I decided to stick with this one. see his post here: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=45059&start=180#p335347 - First grab the older debian pkg from here: http://www.sitedesign.hu/utorrent/ (the latest 25053 release won't work on ultra2)

Thanks so much! Just finished getting it up and running, not really sure how to do all the glib stuff so fingers-crossed that someone will work it all out in the near future  - valmikiAspirant2.2.0 now up and running for a few days, without any problems, thanks again!
I have to ask a question re: all this glib stuff, is this something that will be updated in a future firmware update (RAIDiator X86), and then we will be able to use 2.2.01, is that how it works?
