Wordpress 3.2 asks for a more up to date version of PHP
Wordpress is prompting me to update to version 3.2 but has the followng warning
"You cannot update because WordPress 3.2 requires PHP version 5.2.4 or higher. You are running version 5.2.0-8+etch16"
I have what I think is the latest version of the Super-Poissin PHP add-on installed but as noted above it is not up to date enough for the new release of Wordpress. I have found more up to date versions available from WhoCares? but they contain warnings about incompatibilities with the Super_Poussin versions.
Can I just remove my current versions of PHP and install the WhoCares versions so I can get Wordpress updated ?
All pointers gratefully received.

- thomasmjAspirantI have the exact same problem, any solutions yet?
- loustikAspirantHi,
I am also interested in this feature : I need to instal PHP 5.2.4 or higher, in order to install gallery v3
Regards, - ponyfeedersAspirantI had this problem as well (I've now got another issue preventing WP from running but hey!)
You can get the updated php from here:
http://readynasxtras.com/readynas-sparc-add-ons/php-53-sparc
obv it'll cost you $1.69
hope that's what you're after... - loustikAspirantHi,
Thank you ponyfeeders. As far as I am concerned, this add-on fits me well. It doesn't matter if I have to pay $1.69 for this feature, assuming that my phpMyAdmin will continue to work properly.
Well, I'm gonna install it and test it with Gallery v3, and certainly with WP too. I'll keep all of you informed on this topic.
Bye,
Loustik - ponyfeedersAspirantLoustik did you get it all going? I've overcome this issue thanks to the PHP version issue. just struggling with .htaccess now....
btw there's an update phpmyadmin on that site also if yours needs updating.

I should get commission for this! - loustikAspirantWell, unfortunately, I won't be able to implement it until next wednesday... I'm on holiday right now :)
I'll tell you whether if it is a good way to investigate for me or not on this topic !
Losutik - loustikAspirantAlright, the payment have been acknowledged. I'm processing the add-on installation right now.
- loustikAspirantWell... Seems that the add-on installation has succeded, but I'm stuck on the Gallery3 add-on installation. It requires mysql, and I cannot make mysql and gallery to meet together !
If you want to follow the thread --> https://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=48440&p=322367#p322367
Anyway, Gallery3 seems to like my new PHP release since it agrees to perform the installation. If you have any idea concerning my post...
Happy weekend to everyone !
Loustik - loustikAspirantWell, sorry to spam you this way, but according to Etz : http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=56019, PHP5 doesn't really complies with SuperPoussin's add-on (PHP 1.3). The removal process is quite unhandy.
I needed to notice you about that =) - loustikAspirantSolved !
See here : http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=48440&p=322391#p322391
I confirm that PHP 5.3 makes my Gallery3 works properly !
Hope that it will be the same for Wordpress ! It should ;-)
Loustik
