Xplorer uprade?

I was just wondering if there was any chance that the Xplorer addon might be upgraded now or in the future? The latest, and future releases of AjaXplorer have a number of new features that would be really nice.

Either way, thank you all for all your hard work!

Thanks, i'll try that in the future.

Good news, i was able to "import" all my old "settings" (repositories, users) :
-The "old" repositories are described in the repo.ser file, located in c\webroot\xplorer\server\conf, just copy the file to replace the "new" one in c\webroot\xplorer\data\plugins\conf.serial.
-For the users, I just copied all the content in c\webroot\xplorer\server\users, straight to the c\webroot\xplorer\data\plugins\auth.serial folder.

After that, I forcefully logged out, and logging back in, all repositories, users and groups were as before.

Now, all I need to solve is this PHP issue, ajaxplorer has a feature which uses the system filesize (instead of the php one), but the comment is that it requires shell_exec permission and I don't know how to make it happen :/ I would gladly try PHP 5.3.8 addon, but I don't think it will solve much.
  • The problem with the php filesize is solved, yay !

The feature was a command in conf.php file in earlier version, thought to be the same in the last version (5.0), but it didn't work.

When searching in the ajaxplorer forum, in the latest ajaxplorer release, the same feature (AllowRealSizeProbing) is now available in access.fs, located in the global config - Extensions - Access, I just needed to check the "Real Size" as "Yes". The filesize instantly changed for the good one.
  • Tiranor, wish you'd posted the upgrade config saving instructions earlier, would of saved me an hours work re-doing my shares config, lol.

What's the issue with the PHP file sizes then? Are they causing a problem for you?
  • When i posted for the config, i just discovered it (i was like : why not try, i have nothing to lose) :)

After tweaking the config in Xplorer 5.0, i discovered that there actually is a function to import the config from 3.2.4 to 4.0 (Ajaxplorer versions, meaning 4.2 to 5.0 for the Readynas), similar to the update feature implemented directly in ajaxplorer (which must be used, ajaxplorer is up to the 4.0.4 version instead of the 4.0 one, which is the base of Xplorer 5.0), both settings are located in settings - action - action.updater

The issue with PHP filesize was that PHP, at least in 32 bit environnement, encodes the filesize with 31 bits, meaning that filesizes over 2GB are always false (there is a tweak to use the 32nd bit to increase the filesize to 4GB).
What i wrote in another thread is that it doesn't matter when i'm moving files in the same repository, but each time the filesize was used (copy, download...), there was an error.
With the new version and it's new config system, the AllowRealSizeProbing feature (which uses the filesize function of the system, instead of the PHP function) finally works for me, and i finally get all my filesizes over 2GB correctly.

Now that everything works correctly, i just regret that the copy/move in another repository doesn't work with remote repositories (basically the ftp servers of my family), i still have to use my computer to do file transfers between my NAS and my brother's NAS.
  • Thanks for the info. Thought it was probably a large filesize issue. I've not used Xplorer to do any major copying as yet, but I do find it useful for remote access and deleteing files that refuse to delete under CIFS. So i've never run into the filesize issue. Having said that, to be on the safe side I made the adjustments.
