.DS_Store files

I've did some more tests
I can open notepad and save a file named .txt on either a local disk or the ReadyNAS, I do the same with a file named .txt1 through to .txt1234567890, and .DS_Stor and .DS_Stored, but .DS_Store produces the error.
Then I did some reading of the samba documentation, and had a guess about "veto" in smb.conf
I couldn't get root SSH to work, It looks as if it uses the first password ever used for admin, and doesn't update it, par for the rest of the course, so I ran a backup, unzipped it and opened /etc/smb.conf which lead me to /etc/frontview/samba/ in where I found <veto files = "">, so I put a # at the beginning of the line and saved it, zipped up from /etc, restored and rebooted, and now I can save .DS_Store files
As I said previously "the SMB implementation on the ReadyNAS is blocking the file write"
