Seems all of my previous problems went away when i upgraded to 6.8.0. The fan speeds no longer report 10k rpms. Now show 2100 to 2400 like the original os4 did.
Networking is fast, drives don't go to sleep randomly.
I have 8 pro 6s. I upgraded three of them to 6.8.0. Two of them show the File Search service, and one does not.
The 4200v1 does not show it either.
I don't know what the difference unless the os is looking for a specific cpu or hardware.
So now all is ok.

I tried it on a 3700. It won't work unless you find the Netgear OEM version of the board. The OS is clearly looking for something in the BIOS to boot properly.
If you have a real 4200V2, I suppose you could dump the BIOS and install it in the standard board (and maybe the SATA controller BIOS, too), but that's moving into the copyright infringement realm.
