O.K. now that you're in have you checked the output e.g. of

to see if a process is using lots of resources?

OK -- yes a process called "tracker-minor-f is using ~89%
and tracker-extract ~22%
those are by far the largest user of resources... but dont have clue what they are doing !
as you can see from the attached screen dump - they are varying quite a bit

OK - so tracker is something to do with indexing.... but why was this not happening before the 6.9.0 update.
secondly - how can I stop either indexing or the tracker?
the previous reply link seems to indicate that a file is corrupting the indexing.... how do I find out which one it is ?
I would be quite happy to stop the indexing - remember starting it some while ago, but cannot remember where it was actioned.... can anyone tell me how to stop the indexing please.
