Adding disks with a hdd caddy
Hi all
new user here so be gentle.
I am in the process of setting up a 104 with 4 x 3tb wd reds but also have 3 or 4 other drives that are spare. I have a startech 4 drive hdd caddy can I put the spare disks in this and attach it to the 104 by usb to increase my storage capacity.
Thanks in advance.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserAlso, if it is recognized the performance will be much worse than the internal volume.
- beefybarnAspirantThe disks would only be used for storing photos so performance not important.
So would it be better to just get one big external drive to attach. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIf you already have the startech, you can of course try it. But people posting here have had trouble getting multi-disk enclosures to work with various ReadyNAS.
- beefybarnAspirantOk I think I will forget that idea and just invest in a 4tb external drive to attach.
