Admin Password Recovery

Hello All,  I work in IT and have a NAS that I am unable to access.  I have tried the email recovery procedure, unsuccessful and also the manual reset instructions.......go to the password recovery p...

Try the OS reinstall procedure on pages 58-59 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/ReadyNAS_%20OS6_Desktop_HM_EN.pdf

 

That will

  • partially reinstall the OS (which should do no harm)
  • turn off disk quota (volume settings wheel on the volume tab is where you can turn it back on)
  • reset the NAS network settings to use DHCP and disable any NIC bonding
  • reset the admin password to password.

Be careful not to do the factory default, as that will destroy your data.
