After upgrade ready nas nv[+] has been "booting" for 3 days.

I bought it in 2007 so its not under warranty. I don't know who installed the ram, net gear or the vendor:
"RND4250 READYNASTM NV+ 1 TB GIGABIT DESKTOP NETWORK STORAGE (3 X 500 GB) 5 Year Warranty
Memory Upgrade=*1GB Memory Installed" -- I suspect the vendor.
I'm going to do a factory reset and hope that fixes the problem.. and also hope there were no gaps in my back up.
(I backed up everything using the usb connection, then copied it all to my mac - this alone took days to do. the usb backup was crazy slow, and reading the ext3 disk was not speedy either,=.)
