Any way to adjust disk energy saving settings?

What model readynas are you referring to ?
You won't be able to change those from raidiator, although there are linux commands there, I think you'd need to hool the drive up to a sata port on your pc and try to do it that way.
You would need a backup before altering settings like that.
I don't know if it's necessary or advisable, the disks are on the HCL for some units and I am not aware of specific firmware that you need on the drive.
