Any way to adjust disk energy saving settings?
I am using Seagate ST32000542AS disks. Every 30 seconds, or so, I can hear one or possibly both hard drives "click" off. All of the smart data looks good to me (but I'm happy to supply it if you need ...
It's a ReadyNAS Duo v1.
Here are the suggested changes (shouldn't require being put in a different computer):
smartctl -l scterc,70,70 /dev/sdx (x=drive)
and
hdparm -B 254 /dev/sdx (x=drive)
The changes make sense to me, but it would be good to know if these would be *known* to jack things up.
