Unfortunately modifying the fstab file on a Readynas unit is not advisable as it has been shown to be an unreliable method of mounting external volumes due to the way that file seems to get manipulated by the ReadyNAS firmware
Better to add a shell script to /etc/rc2.d which will always be called on boot and also be unaffected by firmware updates
