Afraid I've only just been able to look at this again after investigating NFS protocols and soon decided this was not the best approach for what I want. Anyway I now understand how this works, so created a fresh backup and this time put the share name only without the full path using just the Windows NAS/timestamp option, entered Login and password and tested the connection, this time it was successful, so I've managed to do a full test of a backup. The same also true for local to remote back up from ReadyNAS to FREENAS, so I am very happy I can now achieve all the backup options I need.
Thanks for your help
