Backup from Server 2008 R2 Share // access denied

Hey guys,

i have problems with the integrated Backupfunction on a ReadyNas NV+.

The backupsource is an share of a server 2008 r2 (windows/nas (timestamp)). The connection to the share is made with an valid domainaccount which has full-permissions to access the share. The "test connection" option is successful. The backuptarget is a share on the NAS.

If i run the job, some files are backuped correctly but some couldn't be backup due to permission denied. I made a test share with some testfiles. All have same permissions (full access for the domainaccount). But as i wrote, some files are backuped and some not. I have no idea. Browsing and copying the files manually from the source to the destination works for the domainaccout as intended.

Are there common problems by backuping from a server 2008 r2 share? What could i do to identify the problems?
Thanks for help,

Andreas

Update: Backing up the same files with same permissions and same domainaccount from a server2000 and server 2003 works as intended. Thus the server 2008 r2 could be the problem, but i have no idea what i have to look for.
Update2: Firmware RAIDiator 4.1.7 [1.00a043]

  • What are the permissions differences between the files that work and the files that do not?

No, the permissions and ownership is the same.

If i copy the files on a server 2003/2000 and backup from ther, it works as intended, so it's possible a server 2008 problem. Have you ever heared about such an issue?

    Tanks for reply

  • I haven't, but you may want to open up a case with support. They're probably seen more backup cases than I have, especially with 2008 Server.
