Blue Light Flashes 4 Times
Hi
I have been given a RN1022 but when I power it on the blue power light flashes 4 times and the box powers off.
Currently it had 2 X 1tb drives in it but I want to replace these with 2 x 2tb I have tried doing a factory reset but nothing happens.
Can anyone advise please
Cheers
Pat

Hi PatK1000
Welcome to the Community!
Blinking/Flashing Power LED should indicate the NAS is booting. If it flashes 4 times then shuts down, there might be an issue with it's current configuration, disks, Power Supply or Adapter.
How did you tried Factory reset? Were you able to access the Boot menu successfully? Do you have the 2TB drives ready? If it is you may want to try inserting those disks, The NAS will detect it, format and build as if you performed a Factory reset.
If you want to make sure that the NAS is working properly before purchasing the new drives, you may want to try accessing the Boot menu and trying to do a factory reset.
Other issues might be caused by a defective power supply or adapter. If this is the case, contacting NETGEAR Support might be the best option or purchase it from a 3rd party manufacturer.

Another option is to remove the existing disks, and power up the NAS. Then install RAIDar on a PC and use it to examine the NAS status.

I cant see the nas in raidar when I have it on the network either with disks in or what but what I have just noticed the power supply that came with the box is not a netgear one and is rated at 12v 1amp, - perhaps this is the problem.
