I'm not a mac guy, so I can't help you there.
If you are using xraid with 4 drives installed, then you would need at least three of them simultaneously mounted to retrieve your data. In your NAS, the data is spread across drives 1-3, and drive 4 is a "parity" disk used to recover missing data.
