Hello musicwarez,
I understand that you would like to change the raid configuration of your NAS without going through a factory reset and/or affecting the the OS partition where you already added a custom software. Changing the raid without reset would work by deleting the volume and creating a new one the select the raid under the admin page. But the problem is that the shares and OS partition is save under the volume so it will affect the second condition you have raised.
