Cannot access my username share over ReadyNAS Remote

On my ReadyNAS, I have setup a few user accounts as it is accessed by a few users in the household... Each registered user gets a share, which typically bears the name of the user (e.g. for the username "John.Smith", the share will be named the same, i.e. john.smith).

All these username shares are accessible locally, if one points to the ReadyNAS and logs in with his/her username and password.

However, those username shares are not available via ReadyNAS Remote. When I log in on my ReadyNAS from outside the local network (i.e. via the internet), my username share is not available. I can only access the general use shares that have been defined on my ReadyNAS, such as "media", "public" etc. These are not shares that are linked to a specific user account on the ReadyNAS.

Can someone please explain why this is happening and whether there is a way to make those username shares accessible remotely?

Thanks.

After logging into Remote you then need to connect to the NAS using a username you would use as if you were on the same local LAN as the NAS. Since guest access is enabled for some shares on your NAS your PC is automatically logging in as the guest user. You could use the "net use" command to delete the connection and then connect again using non-guest credentials.
