ReadyNAS RND-2D - Lost Password & Username. No Password Recovery

Hi I have a Readynas RN10200-100EUS with two x 2TB drives that mirror each other.

The hardware seems OK but some years ago I lost/forgot the credentials to access the data.

RAIDAR sees the device if I connect it to my network but obviously I cant access my files.

Is there any way of getting access to the files in the absence of the login credentials?

Thanks.

Do an OS reinstall from the boot menu.  Instructions are on pages 20-21 here:

Be careful to NOT do a factory default by mistake, as that will destroy your data.

    The OS reinstall will

    • reset the admin password to password
    • reset the network configuration to use DHCP with no bonding (factory default)
    • disable volume quota (which is turned back on using the volume settings wheel).

It will not affect your data or other configuration settings.

Hi StephenB, many thanks for the reply.  Your information is exactly what I wanted.  I had done a search and had seen another suggestion to do an OS re-install but couldn't ascertain if that would wipe my data or not.  Now I know that it wont so I will go ahead and re-install it.

      Thanks again.
