Me again, I should add that so far I have not used the "resync volume" option in Frontview volume settings as I am concious that I dont want to make matters worse.
The current available disks are as follows (as inserted right now), NOTE Ch 3 & 4 SEEM TO HAVE DATA ON THEM. As I recall I have approx 350 to 450GB of data, so I am very much hoping this is my data that I cant access?
Ch 1 : WDC WD5001ABYS-01YNA0 [465 GB] 463 GB free
Ch 2 : WDC WD1003FBYX-01Y7B0 [931 GB] 465 GB free
Ch 3 : WDC WD1003FBYX-01Y7B0 [931 GB] 928 GB free
Ch 4 : WDC WD5002ABYS-02B1B0 [465 GB] 0 MB free
Am I now being overy cautious and would pressing "resyn volume" help me get my access to the the shares back? Please advise in definitive terms?
Note, among the repeating error previously advised in inital post, I have had the following amber level error message in the log:
Sat Sep 3 12:30:08 GMT 2011 "A SATA reset has been performed on one or more of your disks that may have affected the RAID parity integrity. It is recommended that you perform a RAID volume resync from the RAID Settings tab in FrontView. The resync process will run in the background, and you can continue to use the NAS in the meantime."
I have NOT tried this because I real scared of losing what little hope of recovering my data. i.e. Should I take this to some Data Recovery experts in Edinburgh?
