Cannot access Shares on windows network
Hi
I am new to this forum and apologise if this post is in the wrong section but it seems the closest to the problem I am encountering
I have a Ready NAs Duo that is connected to a windows network but can no longer be accessed from my PC . It can be seen as a storage device on the network but clicking on this just takes me to Frontview.
Clicking on the NAS name in My computer gives an error message ' Windows cannot access \\NAS-CE-8B-51. Check spelling of the name....'
Although Raidar will locate the device, clicking on 'browse' tab will give the same error message after about 2o secs i.e windows cannot access ...
I am running Win 7 Pro
Radiator 4.1.14
I can access my files after enabling HTTP protocol but this isn't ideal
In network settings I am using values from a DHCP server
I am on the same workgroup
CIFS enabled
AFP and NFS currently disabled although they have been enabled in the past allowing access from Mac
I have tried rebooting NAs
Disabling and enabling CIFS
I am not particularly tech savvy and would really appreciate any help/pointers to get my access back
Thanks

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserRaidiator 4.1.14 means this is a sparc platform (always called a "v1" here).
Can you confirm this firmware version?
If you are running 4.1.14, then the right procedure is found on page 15-16 here: http://www.readynas.com/download/docume ... 6Dec11.pdf - EskenderNGNETGEAR EmployeeHi,
this link is helpful for determining if you own a v1 or v2.
Please note indications on the casing are sometimes misleading...
Bye,
Eskender - NhellieVirtuoso:slap: my bad, didn't realize that v2's are running OS5.
thanks for the correction StephenB
