Cannot log on to ReadyNas NV+ after upgrade to new computer

Since ping is working, there is no reason to try the direct connect procedure outline by Ixa. I'd also not do the OS reinstall just yet.
Do try \\192.168.1.66 in windows explorer ("computer") and let us know what happens. The direction of the \\ is very important.
If you have internet security software running on the PC then disable it and see if that helps. Check the network connection type, and make sure it is "private". If it isn't, then change it. (http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/98 ... s-8-a.html)
Also if you remember the workgroup your Vista PC was set to, then set the Win 8.1 PC to match (https://www.liberiangeek.net/2012/11/be ... windows-8/). "Homegroup" is not the same as "workgroup".
