Cannot see the files Related to my User folder

Hi all,

Have the following issue with using my ReadyNAS Duo V2 with 2 (mirrowed) 3TB Disk from Seagate:

I cannot see my files and folder any more that are related to my User Folders. I did not delete any users or folders in the NAS.

The only thing changed is that I access the share folders (windows explorer) and admin access NAS (IP adress) with a different laptop.

I used before already the same 2 laptops, the main one is now broken and therefore using the second one to access my Share files.

Could this be the reason I cannot see my User folders any more and only Share folders? because of the

access permits or security settings to a specific device...

Any idea what to do?

Best Rgds and Thnx in advance :)

To clarify: I think you are saying that you can access the NAS public folders but you cannot access the private home folders for each user?

Usually that means you aren't using the NAS admin password with windows explorer.  You can set those credentials up in the windows credential manager.

Thnx for the fast replay, I will do this one the moment arriving home!

So setting those credentials up in the windows credential manager doesn´t need to be performed by the same device used to setup the folders/usernames/ and admin password?

Sorry sounds maybe like a stupid question, just not experienced with NAS devices and just want to understand how it works and learn from it :)

The Windows Credentials Manager is part of Windows - so it needs to be run on the client PCs accessing the NAS, not the NAS web ui.

It tells Windows what credentials to use when you access the NAS.  By default Windows uses whatever username/password you used when you logged into windows.
