Can`t access shares after domain name change

Hi

I recently had a domain name change and also changed all the domain settings on the readyNAS pro 4 storage accordingly.

I can ping the NAS but I can`t access the shares or any of its contents because it keeps saying that I don`t have admin right to access the share.
I can see all the shares but can`t access them

Global settings:
Domain name server 1: has the ip addrress of my DNS server and DC
Domain name: current domain

Security mode:
Domain type: ADS
Netbois name: domain.com
Domain name: domain.com
Domain controller: has the ip address of the DC + DNS

Does anyone have a clue how to fix this issue?

Thanks

  • This is the error message that I get when I click on the share:

\\nas1\share is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact admin......

When I go to to Security Mode I noticed that when typing in domain admin + password and then Apply.....I get unsuccessful joining errors

Unsuccessful joining domain and cifs is also unsuccesful

    More info it might help

    Thanks
  • Hi guys

I read something about resetting the shares or the NAS box to reactivate the access and contents of the shares. Is it correct? How do I do this?

Please can somebody guide me or give me a hand with this issue? I need to access the contents of these shares as all my VM files and backups are stored in there.

    Thanks

Check to make sure that the time on the NAS is in sync with the time on the domain controller.
  • Hi

I already checked the time and it is ok.

I was able to access the shares using the IP address instead of the netbios name \\123.456.1.1\share and also realized that all permissions on folders are gone nut still can`t access the shares using the name
I did flush and register DNS, the reverse lookup zone was previously created and still NAS is asking me for password and username to access the shares

    Thanks for your reply
  • Hi

This NAS box is pissing me off.....Jesus christ

I still can`t join the box to the new domain and I have the following log messages:
    Unsuccessful starting CIFS winbind service
    Unsuccessful joining domain domain.com

Does anyone have a clue how to fix this thing?

    Thanks
  • Hi

I also have this root (Unix User\toot) + root (unix Group\root) in all shares

Inside the C share (and this might be the root share - if there`s one) tg=here are 2 files called aquota and aquota.user and I can not add my administrators or even myself to have full control
  • Does anyone can really help me here please.

anyone capable of giving me a decent answer to sort this out....This NAS is out of order and it simply doesn`t work
  • Did you ever get this figured out? I'm ready to throw my NAS out the window. They shouldn't enable AD features on it if the feature doesn't work as intended.

Or at least give some proper god*amn error messages that point us somewhere.

I get gives me an error message that says:

    "Error joining domain: "

It has a colon but nothing after it explaining what the issue it.
