Can't access shares or frontview on NGRNDV2 Netgear NAS ReadyNAS Duo v2 1TB
Recently noticed that I could not access my shares on the ReadyNAS. Also couldn't restart from the power button so pulled the power cable. Waited +10sec and put it back in. Now the fan is running at ...

Try installing RAIDar on a PC, and see if it can discover the NAS - and what status it gives you. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads#raidar
Also, it's important to confirm the model. Many Duo (v1) owners mistakenly think they own a v2.
The original Duo (called a v1 here):
- says ReadyNAS Duo on the front panel
- runs 4.1.x firmware
- often has v2 labels in the bottom or back.
The Duo v2
- says ReadyNAS Duo v2 on the front panel
- runs 5.3.x firmware
Please use this info to confirm your model, and report back.

Thank you for you suggestions. I'm using mac osx big sur and running raidar gave "RAIDar could not find any NETGEAR storage on your network. Check that your storage device is powered on and connected correctly."
My sales recipt from 2012 (really been that long?) says "NGRNDV2 Netgear NAS ReadyNAS Duo v2 1TB" but the front does not have v2 on it?

Then it's the original Duo. A bit odd, since the actual v2 was launched in 2012, so you must have gotten one of the last of the originals.

It might be due to big sur (not sure).
Try powering down the NAS, and removing the disks (labeling by slot). Then power up, and see if RAIDar finds the NAS and reports a no disks status.

I'm not 100% sure but I think I have accessed the disc with bug sur så don't think it's the issue but could try to upgrade to osx Monterey
Yes have already tried to power down, first boot without any discs and then with discs inserted again (catious to keep the same one in the same slot).
