I may be totally out of date here but, as far as I understand, the 6TB WD Red HD is not on Netgear's hardware compatibility list for your ReadyNAS NV+ v2 but the 4TB WD RED (WD40EFRX) HD is: - http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20641/~/hardware-compatibility-list-hard-disks-
And so, I don't believe that Netgear or anybody else can guarantee that your 6TB HD will work with your legacy NV+ v2.

I was excited to see these 4 TB WD RED drives on the HCL.
I am worried that every other place I look at refers to the max. capacity of the Ready NAS NV+ v2 as 12TB.

Can I be safe spending on 4 of these Reds to make 16TB?
