Can't delete file
Hi guys,
Ok so i got this file i am trying to delete but everytime i try to drag it to the trash i get this error:
"The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items."
I am logged in as the admin. I restarted my ready nas duo (in the hope it would magically fix) but still can't delete (or even rename) the file.
Note the file is not locked and if i click get info i can see i have read & write permission
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

- invisible21AspirantFYI, I was having this problem and I believe sphardy was correct in thinking that you mistakenly added or created the file in question while logged in as the "guest" user. I had all of the same symptoms and when following along with the steps in this thread, I encountered all the same issues.
Like buser2, I was sure that I hadn't created the files under the guest account but thinking back, there was one time I connected using a different laptop and moved some files around and I'm betting that is when I caused the problem. I was finally able to log in as the guest user and delete the files that I were causing the problem without any issues.
If you're automatically authenticating using your admin credentials, try entering afp://anythingyouwant@ip.address.of.readynas and it will bring up the authentication dialog. At that point, click the radio for "Guest" and connect. You should be able to delete the files. - Paria_PublishinAspirantThanks so much Sphardy, your post of Sat Jun 19 2010 also solved my permissions problem.

Set ownership and permission for existing files and folders in this share to the above settings. This option is useful in cases where you are changing security levels and need to workaround file access problems.
The box will uncheck just to clarify
This worked for me, eject in finder and then reconnect AFP.
