Can't get FTP backup to work properly
Hi I have setup the backup schedule for my ReadyNAS NV+. I have selected my NAS and a directory on it as source and my FTP-server (Filezilla) as target. The connection is made and it seems like i...

That's the latest firmware. If the FTP server is at a remote site I'm not sure that I would be using FTP backups (unless done over a VPN) anymore with that NAS. That NAS is EOL so it's not getting any more security updates.

Well.
That info does not help me at all.I'm aware about the security apect. Thats not an issue.
The NAS have support for this backup method and I want help to get this to work.
Thanks.

fwiw I'm not sure if you can get incremental backups with FTP. Incremental FTP was removed in 4.2.16 for the pro/ultra NAS, but it might not have been removed from the 4.1.x firwmare
I can't tell why the NAS dropped the FTP connection from the filezilla log. Did you look in the ReadyNAS backup log? Is the filezilla server on your local lan, or is it remote?
Also, can you clarify why you must use ftp for these backups?
It is possible to automate FTP backups using WinSCP. But the destination would be using WinSCP's FTP client, not an ftp server, and the backups would be scheduled/run from the remote system (not the ReadyNAS). There is some information on how to do that here: http://www.howtogeek.com/100918/how-to-automatically-backup-your-web-server-files-with-winscp-over-ftp/
