I have RAIDiator 4.1.14 on my ReadyNAS NV+
That's the latest firmware. If the FTP server is at a remote site I'm not sure that I would be using FTP backups (unless done over a VPN) anymore with that NAS. That NAS is EOL so it's not getting any more security updates.

That info does not help me at all.I'm aware about the security apect. Thats not an issue.
The NAS have support for this backup method and I want help to get this to work.

fwiw I'm not sure if you can get incremental backups with FTP. Incremental FTP was removed in 4.2.16 for the pro/ultra NAS, but it might not have been removed from the 4.1.x firwmare
I can't tell why the NAS dropped the FTP connection from the filezilla log. Did you look in the ReadyNAS backup log? Is the filezilla server on your local lan, or is it remote?
Also, can you clarify why you must use ftp for these backups?
It is possible to automate FTP backups using WinSCP. But the destination would be using WinSCP's FTP client, not an ftp server, and the backups would be scheduled/run from the remote system (not the ReadyNAS). Well, FTP is a really fast way to send data and that's exactly what I want. All data on this disk is encrypted so no worries about the security.
And as there is a solution for this in the NAS, I cannot see why I should'nt use it. And I have come this close so it feels like it's just a little fix to get this working.
The FTP-server is offsite.
The log in the NAS says: "Could not read reply from control connection ncftpput."
Well of course there is options for a client to do the backup and just copy data from the NAS to another client. I just thought it would be neat to do this internaly in the NAS. Thats kind of the purpose of the NAS.
