Can't install USB Camera Driver's
Hi!
Got a ReadyNas Duo v2 not so long ago, and decided to try setting it up some days ago. And, well, I am not finished yet. Had tons of problems getting the thing to boot, and found out today it killed my WD Red 2TB drive which was working fine before I put it in the NAS. The drive will be set to RMA, and I'll have to live with a 1TB + a tiny 60GB drive for now.
But away from these problems, the thing is I want to connect some webcameras to this NAS. I found the .bin files in a kinda old thread, and thought they did work. Nope. Only gives me a architecture error. Since I'm new to this I took a quick Google Search, and found out there was some drivers out to buy. Now, my problem is not having the 1$ to buy the .bin/drivers file, but it is actually having PayPal since I'm too young to have it, and I doubt my dad will buy them to me.
So then I decided to downgrade to v4 of RAIDiator, but I have no idea if its's compatible with the NAS. Downloaded the file but it didn't want to upgrade from the file as far as I see.
So you more experienced users of Readynas, any tips of what I can do? I would see it as a pretty cool feature to have my webcams connected to the NAS.
Thanks in advance,
Kristoffer

- chirpaLuminaryv1 (Sparc) add-ons are not compatible with v2 (ARM). You can't downgrade a v2 below 5.3 (initial release) either.
I'd get an IP/network camera. USB ones aren't worth the headache. - crispy345AspirantHmm, that sucks. Read more, and it seems addons for the v2 are very few. Makes me want to really get this back to the store, and buy a (x86, Sparc) better unit, or use my C2D computer.
Didn't really want to get new hardware, as I seriously need to reuse some of my stuff or else it will just be laying around and taking up space.
Thanks for the quick reply anyway. - tarkeenAspirantNetGear do no make update 4.2.23 viewtopic.php?f=51&t=69201
