can't negotiate 10gigabit connection
I am unable to make the readynas 4200 negotiate with the netgear prosafe XS708E at 10gigabit.
With cat5e and cat6 cable in the status of the interface I only see:
Online / Mbit / Half-Duplex |
I am not able to turn on Jumbo Frames (while the mtu is set to 9000)
From the switch I see that the port is negotiating at 1000.
I am working on interface2 (using interface1 as console).
any ideas ?
thanks
Giacomo

You are using one of the 10 gbe ports? With the 10 gbe option, the NAS should have 4 interfaces.

hi StephenB
My ReadyNAS 4200 has only 2 100/1000/10gbe nic.
The strange thing is that when I connect it to a 1000gbit switch it says STATUS: Online / 1 Gbit / Full-Duplex
While when I connect to the 10gbe switch (Prosafe XS708E) it says STATUS: Online / Mbit / Half-Duplex
The Speed/Duplex mode shows me only 100mbit full duplex / 100mbit half duplex.
The Show Erros tells only 40 trasmitted packet and all others counters are 0.
From the Switch counters it seems all regular (receiced and trasmitted counter increasing) and I don't see any CRC Error Packets.

This is running 4.2.x firmware?
If so, the models should be
ReadyNAS 4200 with 2 x Gigabit Network
RN12T1210 (12 x 1TB)
RN12T1220 (12 x 2TB)ReadyNAS 4200 with 2 x Gigabit + 2 x 10GbE (CX4)
RN12G0620 (6 x 2TB)
RN12G1220 (12 x 2TB)ReadyNAS 4200 with 2 x Gigabit + 2 x 10GbE (SFP+)
RN12S0620 (6 x 2TB)
RN12S1220 (12 x 2TB)2 x 10GbE add-on card
RN12T2CX4-100WWS (CX4)
RN12T2SFP-100WWS (SFP+)Can you identify which NAS part number you have from the above (and which 10 GbE add-on card you are using?)
