Can't transfer files to NAS through new modem/router

DHCP is here only to give the IP address, if you can ping then it's OK. My network is split into two sections, one has DHCP, the other hasn't and everything is OK.
WINS is a kind of DNS server for Netbios names. I don't believe you have WINS server on a home network. However netbios names can be transferred by broadcast, if you are in the Apple world then bonjour uses broadcast too. Depending on how they are configured, routers can block broadcasts. That's their default behaviour when relaying packets through different subnet (Home => internet for exemple). However I believe most consumer's routers are set to act as switch by default on the same network, so this shouldn't be an issue.
Problem is if you can access the service in read, I don't see why you can't write on it, networkly speaking. I would check the rights on the shares (both share rights and system rights). You can also try to get back to the old configuration and see if it's working, maybe it was a change pending that was activated by the reboot.
Don't know if this info makes any difference but it comes up under Media Device as well as Storage. It use to come up under Computer but no longer does so. Something has definitely changed since changing modem/routers or going to Wi-Fi, which I don't believe is the issue as I can still see it under the other categories and can still run files off of it to my PS3 and Western Digital Media Player through the same modem/router. Getting very annoying and frustrating now and I'm sure it will be something very simple:)
