[Case: 19457934] Can't access FrontView or shares on NVX
Dear ReadyNas community,
I've owned my ReadyNAS NVX Business Edition for almost 4 years. Recently FrontView reported that one of my drives was dead so I replaced it and according to the LED display in the front, the sync went fine over 3-4 hours. I have 4 1TB drives in there, and I just replaced a dead 1TB with another 1TB drive. However, since that happened, I've lost nearly all access to my shares and I'm unable to get access to the web admin interface. When this first happened, I thought I entered the wrong password but this kept happening so to make a long story short and after exhausting methods like password recovery, I ended up using the Boot Menu to Reinstall OS, hoping that the admin password would revert back to netgear1. As luck would have it, that didn't work either and I've ever only created one additional user account, and that username/pw combo didn't work either.
I have over 3 years of family photos and videos that I hope I did not lose on there, and would be gracious for any help I can get from the gurus and jedis out there.
RAIDar is able to still find the NVX and everything looks "normal" from the interface. I don't have a UPS, so that indicator is blank, but otherwise everthing is showing green. I'm using RAIDiator 4.2.17.
I've been Googling and searching the ReadyNAS forums and I found something similar that describes what I may be experiencing, but I'm too novice to really tell:

I definitely hope that I will not have to resort to "Reset to Factory Defaults" as I'm praying that I can still recover the data on those shares.
Please help! I'm desperate!

Thanks for the reply - greatly appreciate it. - npchanAspirantFixed! Thanks to the advice here, Netgear Level 3 support was able to connect to my NVX in Tech Support Mode to resolve everything. Apparently, when one of my drives failed, something in the system partition got corrupted.
Thank you so much, and great support on Netgear's part as well! Resolved in less than 12 hours! - PapaBear1Apprenticenpchan - that is what you call a close call. Take it as a reminder that the RAID aspect of the ReadyNAS is not a backup plan, so you should consider creating and maintaining a backup.
