Change file system permissions via web interface?

    Go into the share settings, and then click on the CIFS icon.  There will be an "advanced options" tab on the upper right - click that.  

     

    Enter the user/group you want to own the files (nobody/nogroup works), and then set the file and folder permissions as desired.

     

    Right under that pane there are two checkboxes:

    • Set ownership and permission for existing files and folders in this share to the above settings... 
    • Grant rename and delete privileges to non-owner of files.

     Make sure both are checked, and then click on "apply" on the bottom right.  The permissions are reset in the background, there will be a popup when it completes.  It should also be logged.
