Change Hardisk - time required for installation.
I installed a new 2TB HD yesterday, set up in RAID 1.. I am not able to access the NAS trough Frontview, but can still access Disk 1.
How long will it take for the other (new disk) to be formatted and transfer (about 750 gb) dato to the New Disk ?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat do you see if you hover your mouse over the volume LED in RAIDar?
- steinwiAspirantIt is Raid Level X (and not Raid 1 as I thought)...
I have now been able to ewnter Frontview and STATUS of the new Disk is "dead"... Disk 2 is "blinking" still blinking, but seems like it may be something wrong with the disk ? Dismount and mount again ?? Power on or not ?? - steinwiAspirantMaybe it is status Raid X as only one disk is working ? Disk 2 is stated as Seagate31000528AS 931GB, 0C/32F()
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIs that the model of the disk you just inserted or the old disk?
- steinwiAspirantSorry, it was the old HD (Disk 1).. Disk 2 is WDC WD20EFRX 1863GB...
But I can now see that "Disk initialization started. The estimated time of completion is 17 hour(s) and 39 minute(s)"...
I did take out the disk and mounted it again... Probably the disk was not properly mounted ? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredMaybe. Or you swapped it too quickly.
