Change IP address on ReadyNAS Pro Business Model RNDP3650-100NAS - cannot access after router change
I recently changed my Netgear 3500 router to a Netgear 8500 router. The 3500 had an IP that ended in .0.1 and the 8500 router IP ended in .1.1 - This is keeping me from accessing my NAS because it's static address ends in .0.112. I cannot access the NAS by going to 192.168.0.112. Is there a way to access/set the NAS's IP to a dynamic address or a static address of 192.168.1.112? I can't access those files on the NAS without a change.
By the way when I switched from the 3500 to the 8500, the 8500 crapped out after 2 hours and died. When I went back to use the 3500 until the 8500's replacement came, I found that the 3500 no longer had the .0.1 IP but claimed the .1.1 IP address thus eliminating my access to the NAS. Any help would be appreciated,
You have a few options.
The easiest one is to attempt to manually set your router to use 192.168.0.x for its LAN addressing. Normally that will be accepted, and give access to the NAS again. So try that one first.
A second way is to configure a PC to temporarily use a 192.168.0.x static address, and directly connect it's ethernet cable to the NAS. Then you could access the NAS web ui using https://192.168.0.112/admin
The third way is to do an OS reinstall via the NAS boot menu. That will reset the NAS to use DCHP, and also reset the NAS to the factory default value (netgear1 in the case of a pro-6 running 4.2.x firmware).
Both of your routers support address reservation - that is much better way to manage addresses. You set up the NAS to use dhcp, the router always hands out the same address. If the base network changed (for instance to 192.168.1.x) the address would change with it (to 192.168.1.112). If you switch to a new router, you'd connect (but on a different address) until you set up the address reservation on the new router.

I assume you mean RNDP6350, as there is no 3650. Unless you set both ethernet ports to static addresses, just plug it in using the other port and let DHCP give it a valid new address on that port. You can then access Frontview via that new address and make any changes you need to. Instead of setting a static IP on the NAS, it is best to reserve an address for it on the router. You just found out one reason why.
