Changing Netgear DUO from Raid 0 to Raid 1
Hi, I have a Netgear DUO v1 Currently in Raid 0, 2x2TB HD (4TB). I would like to make it into Raid 1. I know this is impossible to convert as Raid 0 is stripped and Raid 1 is mirrored. What I would like to do is back up all the data and re-set it up as Raid 1 and restore the backup.
The current data is less then 200GB so this should not be a problem. The issue is that I have MYSQL and a website with other add-on(s) on the NAS witch I dont want to spend the time setting up again (if I can remember how, LOL). So the question is will all this get backed up with the backup or is this not possible? If it is are there any special setting / steps I need to do?
Thanks all

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserSince you are using flex-raid you should be able to destroy the existing RAID volume, and then create a new one that uses RAID-1. This should not require a factory reset, so your add-ons, user accounts, etc. would not be affected. Of course you would need to recreate the shares, and restore the data.
- isaaclAspirantSo if I changed the HDs then it would be fine?
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIf you powered down the unit, and replaced both hard drives with unformatted ones, then the duo would come up in xraid (using raid-1 in your case). You'd need to recreate any user accounts, reinstall any add-ons, restore your data, etc.
However, you do not need to change the drives. All you need to do is backup your data, delete the existing data volume via frontview, and create a new data volume using RAID-1. Then re-create your shares, and restore the files from your backup.
