CIFS Default Access
Why is it that files saved from Windows 7 to CIFS shares on my ReadyNAS NV+ (RAIDiator 4.1.8 ) only have read access when the Default Access is set to Read/write in Frontview? This is causing problem...

Sorry for the delay in responding. The settings you refer to do not exist on my CIFS Tab, I am presuming that this is because I am in the simplest security mode. According to the ReadyNAS User Guide "Each user accesses the shares on the device as a common guest user and has the same
read/write privilege as other users." in Share security mode. It looks like common guest users create files in read only mode which is counter intuitive to a share setting which defaults to Read/write. Is this by design or is it a bug? The upshot is that my ReadyNAS becomes unresponsive as programs try repeatedly to delete files to which they have only read access.
