Connection problem with Ready Nas Ultra 2
Hello everybody,
I am writing this thread as since this morning when I updated the firmware of my Ready NAS Ultra 2 to the 4.2.2 version I can't access my Nas anymore using my Finder. It says connection failed...
I then tried to install Raidar and it can't get a connection also. I then tried on a Windows machine and the Raidar acts a bit weird. Sometimes it finds the NAS but then after few minutes again nothing is found. Just a few information
- I am able to access the front view of my NAS by typing the IP address and using admin username and password
- I don't have disks spin-down option activated
- My MAC firewall is OFF
- I can't access my router configuration as it is property of the service provider but it worked perfectly so far...
- Using a windows Network connection on my Win machine I can see the all content of NAS....but no way to do that on MAC. It just does not want to connect
Any idea? I am running Lion OSX on a Mac Book Pro retina
EDIT: I just tried to connect using the command "afp://ip_address/Media" through Safari and I can access my Media folder after typing username and password. But when I close it down and reopen Finder and click on Ready-NAS it always tells me Connection Failed
Thanks a lot

- AcalexAspirantI am a novice of MAC, any help?
I have been trying a few things now...maybe they will be of some help. On Internet I found the way to acecss the ReadyNAS, one of the methods was this one:
-"afp://hostname/shares" So I tried to open my folder Media using my Nas hostname which is "nashome" but not luck. I verified on ReadyNAS front view and AFP is activated. Then I try using the IP address instead of the hostname and magically works. Do not understand why using the hostname it does not work. What the finder sees under Shares at the beginning is only "homenas" and when I tried to click on it it says connection failed. Might be linked to the fact that can't access using hostname but only IP address? How to fix this?
Second thing...under SHARED I see only homenas and not APS and and CIFS as explained here: http://www.readynas.com/?p=4907
Thanks a lot! - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIs Bonjour enabled on the NAS? Log into Frontview and click on services, and then "discovery services". You will see Bonjour in the list.
