Create a share to /usr/share

Readynas Ultra 6 with radiator 4.2.27

Is it in an way possible to create a share to /usr/share ?
I tried creating u new share using frontview and changing the path in the frontview/samba.conf (or something like that) but that doesn't fly (Error: The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the ReadyNAS is unable to access the data volume.)

The only reason i'm trying to do this is to use git on my mac to update cpserver that is in that path... there is no way i could find an update for the git client to work on Readynas. apt-get keeps telling the git-core is up to date. I guess Netgear stopped maintaining the packages

  • Ok...i've been trying do this myself and i could not get it to work. A few day ago I removed that share using frontview...guess what! It deleted my /usr/share folder. This is of course as designed so totally my own fault. After a reboot frontview does not work anymore so i will have to figure out how to reset the damn thing.
All of this so i could update my apps with git...thanks again for not supporting my "old" Readynas Ultra 6.
