Degraded Resync???
I've been adding disks to the ReadyNAS RN628X to complete the array (goal is having 8 identical drives in RAID-6). I managed to get 2 drives ordered recently (I'll call them Disk 6 and Disk 7) and in...

With an 8-drive unit, XRAID will automatically convert to RAID6 at that point. It has done that, but has not yet completed re-syncing the second drive. So your volume is degraded because it expects two redundant drives and currently has only one.

I had a feeling it was due to the resync not done. So if I understand you correctly, the disks are okay, and the resync is going on, but the array sees itself as degraded because it's down a drive until the resync is done
So once the resync is done in the background, everything should go back to normal readouts.
Does that about cover it? I guess the reason I've been concerned is because the box's readout is not saying anything other than "DATA DEGRADED"... no switching between different readouts like a resync progress update or anything...
Or did I miss anything?

Sure enough, once the sync was completed, the message went away in the box, and the web UI shows everything reading normal... RAID-6 and all.
Thanks, guys!
