what file permissions and file owners for the share did you set up on the Ultra?

Is there a user name on the NAS that matches the windows logon/password?

You might check in the control panel Credentials Manager applet, and see if your windows logon is specified for the NAS. Also if your NAS password doesn't match your windows password, that could be another thing to adjust.

How are the advanced CIFS permissions set (the ones on the CIFs tab)? There you can set the NAS to automatically set permissions on new files and folders.

You can also adjust the file owner and permissions for existing files/folders on the advanced options tab.
  • i have a couple folders that i cannot cange ownership on. the current owner is showing as nobody (unix user\nobody)

Are these media and backup, or are they other folders?
