Disks All OK (Green) but Volume is blank/missing

Im not sure if mdgm would sanction the following - see if he agrees.
If it is a raid volume:
Try powering down, removing disk 1 then booting without disk 1. If this fails as well, don't put disk 1 back without first powering off.
Do you have a spare disk to replace disk 1 if necessary?
You could also try ( with all disks in) an OS reinstall using the boot menu:
