DLNA / Log Files
Not sure where to start with this, so will try here first:
Problems started with DLNA -- Could not see on my PS3 all the folders in my "Pictures" folder on the ReadyNas Duo. Did a rescan, but only would get a subset of what was in the folder. Would never get a DLNA Scan complete message in the log....but always see that it started.
Upgraded the firmware to 4.1.12... still same issue.
Tried to download the logs so I could see if the problem could be pinpointed to a different file. However, the ReadyNas won't download the log file. When I select the download logs from the Raidiator panel, it acts as if it will start downloading, but then delivers a "can't establish connection to the server at xxx.xxx.xxx.xx. Nothing I can do other than to restart the unit... and often, I have do a firmware reload.
So anyway, the unit won't show me all the files that are in my ReadyNas pictures folder using DLNA on my PS3; it won't give me the logs I need to figure the problem out on the DLNA issue and it disconnects the admin console such that I have to restart it or do a firmware reload.
Can anyone help or offer advice on what to do/how to resolve.
Thank you.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredContact support. Your OS partition might be full.
- linder5AspirantWell, I did contact support and paid since my device is out of warranty. Frustratingly, the problem is still not resolved.
Just out of curiosity, how long might/should it take for DLNA to scan all of the following folders with the sizes indicated. Any thoughts?
Size Folder Name

1.1GB 2002
1.4G B 2003
1.5G B 2004

41GB 2013 - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserDid you shift your DLNA database to the C volume? If not, you should.
- linder5AspirantNo...I didn't know I had to/should do that. Is it documented somewhere? How would I go about doing that, and what does/will it do?
Thanks - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThere's a link here: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=64357
the last page includes an add-on link for the v1 (SPARC), so you don't need to modify the minidlna.conf file by hand.Skywalker wrote:

The add-on should move your dlna database and logs to the data volume - which saves a lot of space on the OS partition. I am not sure what the new location is - mdgm can probably tell you.
You can reverse it later by re-installing the add-on. As the name suggests, it is a toggle. - linder5AspirantThanks... I'm not technical on this stuff... just wanting it to work...which it did up until recently.
I don't know what SSH is or what it means to toggle on or toggle off.
I uploaded the BIN file as highlighted in this post to my NAS... it said it loaded successfully, but I have no idea if it did anything. I can't see anything in the log that indicates such. I've rebooted as well.
Unfortunately... My PS3 still can only see a subset of the Folders/files in the /PICTURE directory.
Tech support has been sketchy at best... they are in the Phillipines... the time zone issue causes huge delays.
Still not resolved, and very frustrated. Grr - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIs your client machine Windows/Mac/Linux?
- linder5AspirantThe "client" is a Sony PS3.
I have no trouble viewing the files from any of my laptop or desktop devices running Windows XP and Windows 7.
The PS3 connects to the ReadyNAS DLNA Media Server... But only shows a subset of the files in the folders.
I'm glad to post/send screen shots from my TV showing the PS3... Glad to send/post the logs.
PS3 has the latest code. Connected via wired connection to a Netgear Gigabit Switch with a Netgear router.
The more I think about this, the more I recall this all working before I went to the latest release of the ReadyNAS firmware. I used to be able to see all the photos and videos via the PS/3 on my 60" TV.. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou managed to download the logs zip file?
- linder5AspirantYep... that I have done/can do.
By the way, my email address has changed...not sure how to change that in these forums... open to suggestions on how to do that as well...
Thank you.
