DLNA not working with Samsung TV
Hi, I just got a NV+ 4210
I enabled the DLNA service and I can connect with my windows media player on my lap top to the ReadyNAS.
I have a samsung tv with DNLA, I have used my old NAS, a synology disk station to stream to the tv.... worked fine.
But now the tv cant find the ReadyNAS... It can find my laptop though
Any good suggestion ???
Kris

- AccolonAspirantSame problem here, but with a Philips TV and the Ready NAS Duo.
My PC sees everything (inkl. Streaming-Server (Twonky, ReadyDLNA), TV and NAS (as a networkdevice)) in Network,
my TV sees the Librarys of my PC (due to WMP11, i guess) and can stream Media with no problem, but he does not detect my NAS or Streamingserver.
I've been trying for several days now, but i cant solve the problem.
I tried the following, all without success.
-of course newest version of software on every possible 'problem'-device (TV, Router, NAS).
-My TV should specifically work with TwonkyMedia Server. I installed it (two different versions), PC sees it, TV not.
-I disabled/enabled in various constellations the UPnP service of my Router and the one on my NAS (in case of compatibility problems?)
-I waited for a long time for the TV to detect the NAS (I read somewhere that Twonky sends out a 'statusreport' ("I'm here") only every 15 min or so)
Something odd i noticed is, that i had the ReadyDLNA version 1.0.18 on my NAS when delivered. but the official latest version is the 1.0.17. (which i did install now). In case that helps somehow (eg. "Thats a corrupted malware version smuggled in the manufatury of Netgear by Pirates! no wonder your NAS does'nt work!")
At the moment i think it could be a config. problem on the router. But in fact, I have no clue.
I would be really happy if someone has an idea i did'nt find in the forum or havent thought of yet.
Thanks in advance,
Samuel - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired1.0.19 is the latest ReadyDLNA for your NAS. The addon thread just hasn't been updated for a while. There was a thread to do with Samsung TVs and ReadyDLNA where someone compiled some things a while back.
- AccolonAspirantThanks, I updated but that did'nt do the trick.
I'll check out the other thread then. Altought it's not only a problem with the readydlna as twonky is not detected aswell.
Samuel - klindAspirantHow do you update the NAS to use the latest ReadyDLNA, 1.0.19 ??
I have 1.0.18.2 at the moment - AccolonAspirantAfter mdgm told me, I searched for "readydlna 1.0.19 download"
that lead me here: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=51173
where i found that link: latest ReadyDLNA (currently 1.0.19: http://www.readynas.com/download/addons/4.1/ReadyDLNA_1.0.19.bin )
just copy the url, for some reason I'm not allowed to post links.
afterwards upload the file to the NAS with the system/update/lokal option in frontview as usual.
G - klindAspirantUpdated the DLNA to 1.0.19
But that didn't help... no ReadyNas on the Samsung tv :( - AccolonAspirantIt turns out that in my case it is a Router problem.
it workd with an older router.
we've discussed it in another thread called "My TV don´t see the ReadyNAS DUO "
but so far no solution.
G - klindAspirantMy router is a D-LINK DIR-825 firmware 2.01EU
- AccolonAspirantHi There,
I've come to my final solution:
I'm using a TV receiver connected through the internet.
Apparantly this starts a service on the router called "QoS". This is necessary for my bluewin TV (thats my provider, I'm from switzerland) to work. If i plug the TV receiver out suddenly my TV sees the NAS.
This service is probably only necessary on newer routers, since TV and my NAS work both fine when pluged in the old router.
My solution is to put a switch, or in my case the old router as a switch, inbetween and connect only my old router (with all the devices at it) and the TV receiver to it.
I havent done it so far, but i'm about to do it, and it should work.
I'll post my 'solution' also in the other Thread discussing a similar problem.
Samuel - fabpitou75AspirantI had issues with DLNA and a friends Samsung TV (UE55D8000) hence decided to upgrade my Duo from 4.1.7 to 4.1.8.
Basically I had to restart the DLNA service in order for the Duo to appear on the TV (TV was connected via LAN).
After upgrading DLNA was not working at all. It seems like the latest DLNA version (1.0.22) built-in the latest firmware make things worst.
Could the DLNA support team look into this issue?
Thanks
