Drive DEAD ?? Drive or readynas

Slot 1 works OK with another drive.
So western digitals diagnostic tools say the disk is OK, readynas says it's bad.
Anyone know why ready nas would say the drive was bad but wdc says its OK?
Looks like I'm going to have buy another drive great excuse to buy a 4tb one
